| Alis 01How to improve at Badminton
Jog at least 5 days a week for 15-30 minutes and carry out stretching exercises. Sprint, short distances at 10 second intervals.
Jump high with your toes and try to bring in the knees to your chest.
Skip for at least 10 minutes a day. This is reputed to be one of the best and quickest ways to develop the ability to move around the court as it keeps you on your feet at all times.
Hire a coach or get the help of a better, more experienced player who can guide you on how to improve your footwork. Alternatively, watch recordings of professional players and study and emulate their footwork.
Practice shadow playing badminton exercises so you can move based on instinct rather than having to consciously think about where you need to go next.
Place shuttlecocks on their sides at each corner of the court. Then, move as quickly as possible from each corner to the next and place the shuttlecocks upright. This drill will help improve your speed and balance. Time yourself to track your improvement over time. As you get better, increase the challenge with additional shuttlecocks along the sidelines. |
| Alizy monzCome in heel first on your racquet foot when lunging forward to the net. Extend your non-racquet arm behind you to improve your balance. Your heel will absorb the pressure and the weight of your body better, and you will be more balanced on your lunge.
Move back fast on your first step after your lunge, but slow down on your final step. If you charge back to the center of the court in your final step, an experienced opponent can easily return the shuttle to where you originally were and put you off balance.
Defense is equally important as the smash. In order to improve your defense half court singles is ideal. Why? Accountable for a smaller area of the court, you are better able to anticipate and return your opponents smashes. Since all smashes of half court singles are straight ahead you will be able to concentrate of pure defense rather than running to retrieve them.
When getting closer to a competition play games as in a real tournament.
Practice hard and play hard. You will improve. Good Luck! |
| standarditech sachinDo you like to play badminton? Do you love the thrill of an exciting match? Do you want to improve your game? But does the thought of doing hours of boring drills sap any enthusiasm right out of you?
Believe it or not, there is a way to have all the fun of competition and improve your game. It's called half-court singles.
Half-court singles is a game whereby the players use only one half of the standard singles court from the center line to the inside alley line, and all the way to the back singles line. Games use standard scoring to 15 with setting allowed. The object is to win the rallies, score the most points, and win the game.
The consequences, however, are:
 better footwork;
 improved consistency and more accurate shot placements;
 increased stamina;
 killer drops and net play;
 stronger smashes;
 wall-of-China defense. |

- nope running shoes from Nike is not good enough. Running shoes from Nike is often not even good enough for large amounts of running (like 30 miles a week), so don't use them for badminton. Badminton shoes have a special type of grip designed for the court and you will not slip (unless your shoe is dusty-then clean it). Yes, they are worth it and will probably last at least a year (unless you're like me and train many hours a week have footwork consisting of many steps and long rallies then they will last 5 months max).
- think more about the game, this probably means that you're mentally tired/bored. put feeling and consideration into every shot, because if you become too lazy to do that, it's hard to improve (even if you become super fit physically)

Extreme Power is THE ONE for you! A MUST HAVE FOR ALL PLAYERS. JUST TRY IT! If you already have it, do try out the other models as well.
Starter Tips: Build up your wrist power by using a roller (cut a broom stick into 1 feet length) and a string with a brick at the end of the string (cheapest way). Once you do this regularly, the racket weight will feel like a feather. To win a game, do plan ahead before or just starting a game. Look for your opponents weak point and capitalize on it. My youtube videos are here. You can see that most of the students are improving well with confidence and enjoying the game very much. |
