How to Travel and Visit Cuba

Cuba is the largest Caribbean island located between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean. If you ever wanted to visit and have fun in Cuba, here are some helpful pointers.

Know the three regions of Cuba. They are Western Cuba, Central Cuba and Eastern Cuba.

Know the seven major cities people like to visit in Cuba. These are Varadero, Trinidad, Santiago de Cuba, Santa Clara, Pinar del Rio, Baracoa and Havana, Cuba's capital city.

Be familiar with some of the other destinations in Cuba: Cayo Largo, Isla de la Juventud, Jardines del Rey and Maria la Gorda. It will help to know some Spanish, the official language of Cuba.

If your visit to Cuba will be short, it is always a good idea to visit Havana, the capital city. In Havana there are lots of interesting tourist attractions such as the Casa de Musica, Museum of the Revolution, Cigar Factories, Havana Club Rum Factory, Prado Street, El Malecon, La Habana Vieja, John Lennon Park, Plaza de la Revolucion, The US Special Interests Building, The Hotel Habana Libre and The Catedral de San Cristobal.

Plan your budget and trip agenda accordingly. Cuba can be rather expensive, and credit cards issued by US banks cannot be used there due to the embargo.
